We all have heard about the white collar jobs and blue color jobs, but the Green Collar Jobs is a new phenomenon. United Nations Environment Program has initiated green jobs initiatives, popularly referred to as green collar jobs, with the purpose of environmental preservations and restoration.
Creating job prospects in agriculture or environmental careers and encouraging policies to turn people towards agricultural sector are various forms of Green Jobs initiatives. The other Green Collar Jobs initiative is the Research and Development in the field of energy conservation, solar energy, biofuels and many others. The grave concern of food and water shortage can also be reduced to a great extent with the help of the Green Collar Job initiative.
For manufacturing industries, Green Collar Jobs also promote the usage of environmental friendly materials and other renewable energies in manufacturing and productions units. Many environmentalists and scientists have come up with the judgment that the severe and chronic degrading environmental concerns can only be tackled through the lesser dependence on the fuel, petroleum and other exhaustible energy resources.
Though a Government initiative, the concept of Green Collar Jobs has been supported by the private sectors both for the environmental and tax benefits reasons. The cause is supported by many Non Governmental Organizations with the promotion of the Corporate Social Responsibility.
